Kit Kat is what we call our sweet little Kathryn. As much as I wish I could keep all three of our children little forever, it just isn't possible and as Kathryn so frequently reminds me, it just isn't fair either. Oh how I wish I could make her understand that she will later dream of being young again. But I remember being where she is; and wishing I could "grow up" too. Kathryn asked me recently if she was old enough to have her own photo shoot, a grown up one. I have taken millions of photos of her, but I think she wanted what she has seen me do for others; the changing outfits, locations, bringing personal items along and helping her pose. I watched our sweet little girl debate over outfits, play with her hair to see what looked best, gather her personal items and look for accessories. It was then that I realized.... she has no idea! She is absolutely clueless to the beauty that she exudes. Her precious smile, her genuine heart, those deep blue eyes and that way she has about her. And it baffles me that she has no idea! This child gathered all these things so she could be beautiful when in fact, SHE is what made those things beautiful. I could have cried a river as I took these photos of our precious Kathryn. For me it was like a window; into past memories of past longings from my own childhood, in the present of loving that I am a mother to such a wonderful child and into the future of all the answered prayers I secretly whisper for her life. I hope you see what I see, Kathryn, when you look in that mirror.... a beautiful reflection of His love shining through you into the lives of so many others! What a blessing you are to us and all those who know you!

Hannah came with us when we did the Seagle Family Session. She is a long time friend of granddaughter, Erica. And is, like us, adopted into the family. So she has a special place in my heart, now that we are grafted in. Hannah was so sweet to sit with my kids and hold our dog while we shot a ba-zillion pictures. Some of which I had to wade into the waters to get. I wanted her to know how much I apprecaited her so I offered to shoot a couple of shots for her to have, seeing as how she was standing there all pretty. Love you Hannah! And thanks for being you!

This family exudes love in every direction! When we arrived in Pulaski, I never expected this mom to bring her children to help us move in but she did, and they did. And bless their hearts, every time they asked me where something went, I was so overwhelmed all I could say is "ummm,  the basement", for EVERYTHING!!! the joke all day became "where does this go.... the basement?" hahahha. We still laugh about that. I imagine one day they might have to ask me again where something goes and I will reply "the basement" lol. But what a blessing they all have been to us. For Mother's Day I wanted to give something special to Brenda, photos of her and her family. Brenda you are a beautiful woman of God, a true example of sacrifice and you have such a servant's heart. Alan, Missy, Chris and Sherry, we love you as if you were our own brothers and sisters. Your commitment to the Lord is such an encouragement. If ever you need anything, you can find us in the basement, hahahah. Enjoy some of my favorites from your session. I'm still working on a few of them :)

Brooke is the oldest of the two. She bears a beautiful smile and Erica isn't far behind her either. She has an equally beautiful smile of her own. These sisters are quite the pair. While they both have their own sense of style and likes/dislikes, they compliment each other so well you would hardly know they are sisters. They whispered little conversations to each other, helped each other with poses, they were more like friends. I've always wondered what it would be like to grow up with a sister; would we share clothes?, laugh and talk all night? or would we hate each other and fight over silly things? Maybe both! They made me want to go out and rent-a-sista. lol. Ok, maybe not, but I enjoyed every minute of watching them interact and capturing their personalities on camera. B&E............. I can't wait to see what God has in store for you. You are both bright and beautiful young ladies. Enjoy my favorites from their session.

Putting myself out there! Here it goes....... Since this is a new blog and I'm making tiny steps to start a business out of doing what I love, I figured I should probably blog where I am at so I can always look back and see how far He has brought me. Let me first say, I love Jesus for saving me. How is it possible that a mess like me can be delivered from so many things and made new. His great love for us!! I am 32, married to my best friend and we have 3 beautiful children; whom you will meet over and over on this blog, I'm sure! lol. I've had so many great ideas of what I wanted to do that I forgot to ask God what He wanted me to do. I have tried about everything out there.... served in the military, house wife and stay at home mom, manager positions in retail, nurse's aide, caregiver (which was my favorite to a most wonderful young man), real estate investor and it goes on and on.
My passion is people, I love more than anything to help people; help them accomplish something, help them plan, but most of all; to help them realize that God rejoices over them, that they are beautiful and that God can use them to accomplish great things!
Another passion is creating, designing and photography. They all go together really. So I bought myself a camera and started shooting, then I learned a few tricks, then I started blog stalking people ;) and here I am. I have LOTS to learn but I am ready. I am terrified someone will be disappointed in me but I am ok with that. I can only accomplish what I will set out for and I have to start somewhere. I am committed to growing and committed to helping people see in themselves what I see.
In this thought process of where I am coming from and where I am headed, a motto was born in my heart awhile back that I want to share; to captivate the essence of who God created you to be, that others would see in images what they see in your life lived out, framed and displayed for His splendor. That as you glance over images of yourself and family, you would see what we all see, A BEAUTIFUL YOU!
And because every post needs a picture, here's one of how I feel at the moment........... WOOT WOOT! Full steam ahead!

The 4th of July is celebrated every year with fireworks, cookouts, family and friends. People go about their day celebrating our country's freedom. I love that!! But last night, I wondered as I watched fireworks; how many celebrate like that when they get saved and celebrate that date every year. It's a far greater freedom. Freedom in Christ! As we go throughout the year and we are thankful for our country's freedom, we also go about our year and we are thankful for our freedom in Christ. But I couldn't help silently asking myself, is it crazy to want fireworks every year, a cookout, family and friends to celebrate our salvation dates. Maybe just maybe I will start a tradition! Here's a picture of what's in my head................

Her name is Alex. Newly married, but missing her husband as he is in basic training for the Navy. Alex was visiting recently and wanted something special for her man, so naturally I said "Photos!" This was my first potrait session here in Pulaski and I was excited to find so many beautiful locations. Alex, not much longer before he's home!
